FREE QR Codes for Read-to-Me Books

Free QR Codes for Kindergarten Read-to-Me Books from In Our Pond. Great for classroom use and daily 5 reading programs.

We listened to a lot of audiobooks on our vacations, which has really gotten the kids (especially Dragonfly) interested in listening to books.  With the new school year coming up, I thought it would be a great time to put together an audiobook collection for my kids.

I decided to use QR codes to promote independence with my kids.  Although they do not have their own devices and will be using my phone for audiobooks, I anticipate that they will very quickly figure out how to chose a book to read by scanning the code.

The cards that I made feature a QR code and a picture of the book cover to help my kids select their favorites.  The collection is also divided into subjects, with each subject having its own color.  I'm hoping that this will also aid the children in finding books they can read.

I'm planning on laminating the cards and putting them by sets onto binder rings.  Some days, I'll let my child chose their own ring and other days I may chose for them to correspond with a calendar time or season (for example, Thanksgiving).

I really enjoyed putting this collection together for my kids, and I'm sure that I'll do more collections in the future.  I'd like to do a bunch of science books for my "Science Girl."  I may even get bold enough to try a selection for every week of our homeschool year.  If you don't hear from me, assume I have been buried in QR codes.

In case you want to put together your own collection, I used a free QR code generator, Youtube for videos, Amazon for pictures, and a digital scrapbooking program to put it all together.

Other free QR book codes can be found at Teachers Pay Teachers.

I store our QR codes in poly three-prong folders and page protectors.  They're very easy to flip through and store neatly when not in use.
