Hope the Elf's Adventures- Part 3
This is the last batch of pictures from our 2018 Christmas season. Our Barbie-who-identifies-as-an-elf worked pretty well. I wish I had planned her visit a bit more; although I didn't do everything that my kids were hoping I'd do (nuts to crack, a cookie scavenger hunt, and a few more). They're always so sad to see the elves go. Maybe I'll bring them back for a month of kindness in February (or maybe just 2 weeks). We'll have to see what happens (wink).
It's a Marshmallow World out there! We still don't have any snow, so Hope and Joy decided to cheer us up with a snowball fight. They build forts out of big marshmallows and tossed mini marshmallows at each other. The kids loved the set up and then ate all the marshmallows.
The elf sat on a shelf! Imagine that!
Hope is finishing up some Christmas gifts. The paint canvas is a scrap of foam board covered in paper and then painted. You can also buy mini real canvases, which would be neat for giving your craft an authentic feel. The craft tray was so much fun to make! The paint and glue bottle printables can be found on my "Mini Paint Bottle" post. The brushes are made from cut and painted toothpicks.
This is the Greatest Show! Hope spent the night practicing her aerobatic act for the big Christmas program. The entire family laughed all day at her hanging upside down. The dowel rod is hung off the kitchen cupboards with ribbons.
As Christmas nears and things aren't getting done, Mom is threatening to go "full Grinch." The homemade costume is based on the onesie pattern I posted previously. The onesie is wrapped in fun fur. I haven't decided if I like the outfit or not.
Hope is selling peppermint treats today! Most of the tutorials can be found on the mini accessories post. Of course, the coffee printable is found on the Coffee Shop post. And, the cookies were made from a My Froggy Stuff tutorial. Wood dowel rods painted white and wrapped in red ribbon make peppermint sticks to hold up the sign.
Hope got into the mint Oreo cookies and ate all the frosting out of a couple cookies. Since this is how my kids each cookies too, they didn't find anything wrong with this picture. They did think it was funny that she had frosting on her lips.
Despite how the picture looks, the elves enjoyed zip-lining from the tree into the kitchen. The kids thought the post was particularly funny as they sailed across the living room.
Hope was exhausted on this last night before Christmas, so she spent it watching movies (or maybe blogging), drinking cocoa with whipped cream (another tutorial from My Froggy Stuff), eating popcorn (TP spit balls all dried and glued together), and knitting. The knitting needles are made from toothpicks and beads and her knitting truck is made from an Altoid tin. Her laptop is a modified printable from My Froggy Stuff (I added the reindeer to the back and put a different screen on it). The blanket is a scrap of t-shirt. She is, of course, sitting in her Suitcase Elf House, which has been a great addition to our elf adventures.
